I’m not my name. I am the silent one inside. I am the shy one who lives in fear of being perceived, and I only come out when Anami Grace is quiet in her room with the lights off. I am the nameless form of God that lives within her.

I am held in the harmony she carries in her voice, in her frequency, in her body. I am the imperceptible piece of her that makes her move in beauty and love through the world.

All of her life she’s been ashamed to carry the name of the unnamed form of God. Hiding behind jokes about how her name rhymes with several lunch meats, blaming her parents, and knowing that she choose her name before her arrival on this planet so that she would be forever marked just outside of ordinary.

Her own unescapable scarlet letter engraved on her birth certificate and her life.

Her name has carried racism, her name has carried misogyny. Her name has carried undeserved hatred, her name has carried an invisible weight of extraordinary.

When she confidently stands in front of you, sharing her light with y’all. I am right behind her holding the pressure of everything that could be through her.

I am her divinity, wrapped up in an impossible name.

I am the sacred flower of life, the geometrical glow that is almost imperceptible to the naked eye, and only caught on camera through her movement.

I am her light, shining through all of the darkness she’s had the honor of holding in her life.

And I’m here to tell you that she’s already changed the entire world. And everyone will know her name, the nameless form of me that only arrives in silent grief, unspoken harmony, and the quiet determination that had led her through every step of this path.

God has never been outside of you. Divinity has never been separate from you. It’s always been hiding in the parts of you that you don’t like or that the world has told you were too much.

It’s time for the nameless parts of me to be named, held, loved, and honored within you through the creation of a totally made up life you love.
